This detailed map of Bombay, now Mumbai, was published in the 1960s or 1970s. Measuring 50 x 74 cm, it is intended as a comprehensive visual guide to the city and its environs, with an emphasis on road, rail, sea, and air routes, according to the title of the time. Designed for both residents and visitors, the map combines geographical accuracy with tourist features. It includes a clear key, an index of key locations, distance markers, and several illustrated vignettes depicting emblematic buildings, monuments, and local scenes. The graphic style, dominated by orange and blue, is typical of popular cartographic productions of the period, combining readability and visual appeal. It constitutes a valuable testimony to the urban structure and visual identity of Bombay in the postcolonial era.
