This large tourist map of Venezuela, published by the oil company Mobil, is a richly illustrated work that celebrates the country's diversity. The map is populated with drawings depicting local wildlife (toucans, jaguars, crocodiles), lush flora with magnificent orchids, as well as various human activities, from agriculture to indigenous traditions. Lake Maracaibo and the Caribbean coast are enlivened by a variety of vessels, ranging from antique sailboats to modern oil tankers. A decorative cartouche presents information about the country. With its border imitating a bamboo frame and a large compass rose, this map is a decorative and informative object, typical of promotional productions of the time. The map measures 93 cm by 63 cm.
