This large wall poster is a zoological map of Europe, published by the famous German publisher Westermann in the 1950s. Typical of school maps of the time, it does not depict political boundaries but illustrates the distribution of wildlife across the continent. Dozens of animals, birds, and marine creatures are precisely drawn and placed in their natural habitats. It features everything from Scandinavian bears and wolves to Alpine ibexes, Gibraltar macaques, and Arctic walruses and narwhals. The graphic style and colors are characteristic of the mid-20th century, making this piece both decorative and educational. The poster measures 90 cm by 120 cm.
