World Map by Luc-Marie Bayle - 1946

This promotional world map, designed by renowned French artist Luc-Marie Bayle, highlights the air routes of the French airline Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux (TAI). Intercontinental Air Transport began operations as a charter airline in June 1946, in partnership with Compagnie Maritime des Messageries Maritimes. Since 1947, TAI has operated flights to Africa, with Madagascar as its main destination.

Luc Marie Bayle (1914 - 2000) was a French naval officer, painter, and artist. His artistic work is characterized by a combination of technical precision and creativity, which is well illustrated by this map.
