This magnificent vintage map of Italy, created around 1950 by the artist and sculptor Celestino Petrone, is an exceptional example of pictorial tourist cartography. Originally designed for the brochure "Italy… Four Seasons of Sunshine," the work is distinguished by a complete absence of text labels, allowing for a purely visual and artistic interpretation of the country. The Italian peninsula is depicted with a wealth of architectural richness, blending recognizable historical monuments (such as the Colosseum in Rome or the Duomo in Milan) with scenes of local life. The Mediterranean color palette, dominated by ochre and red, is complemented by illustrations of historic ships, mermaids, hot air balloons, and radiant suns, evoking the joy of travel. Petrone's style lends a sculptural and dynamic dimension to this map, which celebrates the diversity of Italy's regions through its urban landscapes and maritime folklore. The map measures 61 cm by 42 cm.
