This illustrated map of Provence is framed by a navy blue border. A blue cartouche in the upper left corner reads "FRANCE PROVENCE MEDITERRANEAN SEA." The map is richly illustrated with monuments, towns, and notable sites in the region, including the Palais des Papes in Avignon and the Roman ruins at Orange. Symbols depict farms, country houses, wineries, caves, and other points of interest. Major roads are outlined in red. Coasts, mountain ranges, and rivers are clearly visible. A compass rose and legend are in the lower corners. The map measures 52 cm by 44 cm.
