This tourist and pictorial map of the Belgian capital, entitled "Brussels Monumental Map," is a detailed work published by Marco (Marius Marconval). This 1930s map poster is distinguished by its wealth of architectural illustrations, each major monument represented by a vignette precisely engraved directly onto the street layout. The map is framed on the left by a series of portraits and historical statues (Leopold II, King Albert I, Gabrielle Petit) and on the right by black and white views of the Grand-Place, the City Hall, and the Palace of Justice. A "List of Monuments, Palaces, Parks, and Promenades" at the bottom of the document lists 123 points of interest, facilitating orientation through the city's various districts. The main thoroughfares and tram lines are highlighted, and a special "Excursion Map" insert is visible in the upper right corner. This piece is a valuable geographical record of interwar Brussels. The map measures 72 cm by 54 cm.
