Vintage illustrated tourist map of Cannes by Jorj Morin - ca. 1960

This illustrated poster-map of Cannes was created by Jorj Morin, a French artist and graphic designer (1909-1995), renowned for his advertising work and clear graphic style. The map presents the city of Cannes, with a particular focus on the Rade, the Port, and the Croisette, as well as the industrial and commercial areas of the time. The composition is distinguished by clean lines, typical of Morin's graphic style, with simplified and readable cartography. The sea is represented by a solid blue, contrasting with the light gray of the urban areas and the white lines of the streets. Numerous stylized illustrations, in bright colors (red, yellow, green), symbolize businesses, industries, and places of interest (hotels, factories, garages, banks, etc.), giving the whole an informative and highly decorative character. These advertising illustrations, framed with black or red circles, are clear and immediately identifiable. A vertical insert on the left reads "CANNES - THE PORT AND INDUSTRIES," emphasizing the economic aspect of the document, while a central circular motif of red and yellow suns reinforces the overall "Côte d'Azur" aesthetic. The map measures 108 cm by 75 cm.
